The Lighthouse Shines in Palm Beach Society
The Lighthouse for the Blind of the Palm Beaches, Treasure Coast & Okeechobee is featured in the October 2-8 issue of Palm Beach Society, which devoted a two-page spread to our EnVision 20/20 Luncheon at The Beach Club in Palm Beach.
What the Spread Highlights
The feature captures an afternoon that brought together more than 110 community leaders, supporters, and advocates to celebrate resilience, service, and hope. Palm Beach Society called out:
- Our 80th Anniversary. The Luncheon marked eight decades of the Lighthouse serving as a guide, advocate, and bridge to independence since 1946.
- Keynote speaker Lauren Bishop, an Assistant State Attorney in Florida’s 15th Judicial Circuit and an advocate for accessibility and inclusion, whose story of perseverance resonated deeply with attendees.
- The Dr. David B. Cano Servitude Award, presented posthumously in recognition of Maria Beaudouin, whose commitment to service embodied our mission.
- A record-breaking Call to the Heart, which produced the highest amount we have ever raised at a luncheon.
- Emcee Kelly Merbler, Executive Director Lisa Stella, Luncheon Chair Summer Held, and Spanish-inspired guitar by Islay Rodriguez.
