Ibis Charities Foundation Awards $20,000 to Lighthouse

April 27, 2026

We have wonderful news to share with our Palm Beach County community. At a recent breakfast ceremony hosted by the Ibis Charities Foundation, Lighthouse for the Blind of the Palm Beaches was awarded a $20,000 grant — a gift that will shine directly into the lives of the children we serve every day.

Our entire team was moved by this incredible show of support. This investment in our mission means more resources, more opportunities, and more independence for young people living with visual impairments across the region.

About Ibis Charities Foundation

Founded in 2012 by the Board of Directors of The Club at Ibis, the Ibis Charities Foundation is a 501(c)(3) charity dedicated to supporting Palm Beach County nonprofits serving families, healthcare, food security, and community enrichment. Since its founding, the Foundation has committed over $3.5 million to organizations throughout the region — and we are deeply honored to be among those they've chosen to invest in.

The Foundation's annual breakfast ceremony brings together members, sponsors, and nonprofit partners to celebrate the power of collective generosity. Being recognized at this event is a testament to the meaningful work happening every day at Lighthouse.

Eighty Years of Guiding the Way

This year, Lighthouse for the Blind of the Palm Beaches proudly celebrates 80 years of service. For eight decades, our mission has remained constant: to help persons with visual impairments develop their capabilities to the fullest and live with independence and purpose.

Like the lighthouse for which we are named — a fixed point of light guiding those who cannot see the shore — our organization exists to illuminate a path forward. We serve children, teens, and adults, offering programs that build skills, confidence, and community connection. This donation ensures that light burns brighter.

What This Grant Means for Our Children's Programs

The $20,000 awarded by Ibis Charities Foundation will be directed entirely to our children's programming. These programs provide young people with visual impairments the tools, training, and encouragement they need to thrive in school, in relationships, and in life.

From adaptive technology training to social skill development, our children's programs are the cornerstone of the Lighthouse mission. Gifts like this one allow us to serve more families, reach more schools, and ensure that no child in Palm Beach County is left without support simply because of their vision impairment.

Join Us in Saying Thank You
